Butterfly Lessons
I was recently given a rendition of this message from a friend and I have revised it to work into our everyday life. There is so much to learn from all of God's creatures. This is just another example of how the creatures around us, teach us every day. Enjoy!

The Butterfly Lesson
One day a small opening appeared in a cocoon. For several days, a man sat and watched for the butterfly to emerge. He watched as it struggled to force its body through the small hole. Then one day, it seemed as if it was no longer making any progress. It looked as if the butterfly had given up and couldn’t go any further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and opened the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily but it had a tiny, withered body with shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch because he expected that at any moment the butterfly would spread his wings open, expand them and the wings would be able to support the butterfly’s body and become firm. However nothing happened. In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a withered body and shriveled wings. It was never able to fly.
What the man did, in what he thought was kindness and goodwill, was to restrict the growth of the butterfly. The restrictions that the butterfly had in the cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening is nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life even if it doesn’t seem that way at the time. If we were allowed to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we could have been. We would never have been able to fly.
I asked for Strength – I was given difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom – I was given problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity – I was given a brain and brawn to work.
I asked for Courage – I was given obstacles to overcome.
I asked for Love – I was given troubled people to help.
I asked for Grace – I was given God’s love.
I asked for Favors – I was given opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted and I received everything I needed.
Live life without fear, confront all obstacles and know that you can overcome them. Life is truly that simple. For everything we overcome, there is a beautiful butterfly in us waiting to soar. It's time to spread your wings.
Blessings always
